Maintenance Engineering

Expertise that is unequalled

Maintenance is a complex task. Analyzing what is needed, engineering the maintenance, planning and inspecting the operations and then managing the overall activity requires experienced experts. Maintenance Engineering & Inspection is at the core of this activity.

Maintenance Engineering generally starts during the engineering, procurement and construction phase of a new plant. During this phase Sonadiets works with clients to integrate their operational backgrounds, specific knowledge of their installations and the geographical context. Optimized Maintenance Engineering & Inspection proposals based on best practices are then defined.

The first step is to break-down plant equipment into maintenance items and to define spare parts. This large amount of information is fed into OPERIOM, the Dietsmann Company’s unique proprietary analytic equipment database application. Sonadiets’ maintenance specialists can consult this database, which contains all the key maintenance information and history on more than 10,000 different pieces of equipment, whenever they need to, and wherever they are. Access to the plant Operation & Maintenance experience accumulated within the Dietsmann Company during the past 39 years ensures the optimum definition of all data and procedures.

Sonadiets’ operational activities require the accurate, continuous monitoring of various parameters in order to achieve Key Performance Indicators and fulfill the client’s expectations. Towards this end, and to assist people on site, a dedicated tool capable of managing the operating technical parameters of all the equipment deemed vital and critical for installations was designed. The key benefit of this tool is that it ensures all the experience the Group has accumulated working on many different sites is capitalized and the evolution of the Company’s performance can be monitored. It also enables its users to generate technical reports and have direct access to information, such as the results of technical maintenance indicators, the availability and efficiency of equipment and major events. This new tool is destined to play an important role in monitoring activities, accessing technical information and establishing a shared-knowledge database for the Group’s employees.

Optimum transfer of know-how

Sonadiets’ Maintenance Engineering and Inspection includes documentation management, maintainability and inspectability studies, the definition of and recommendations for spare parts and tools, procurement, warehousing and maintenance & inspection plans and procedures. Clients also benefit from having a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) defined and implemented for the start-up and updated during the plant’s life cycle. Using the same partner for both Maintenance Engineering & Inspection and Operation & Maintenance guarantees the optimum transfer of know-how and a smooth transition to the operational phase.
