The Sonadiets Joint Venture Partners

Sonangol was established in 1976 through the nationalization of ANGOL when Angola gained independence from Portugal. Despite its only shareholder being the government, Sonangol has always been governed as a private company with strict standards of performance to ensure productivity and efficiency. Over the past decades Sonangol has expanded into an integrated group of more than 30 subsidiaries and joint venture companies and Angola’s leading distributor of refined oil products. Sonangol’s priorities have always been the management of Angola’s hydrocarbon resources, environmental protection, industrial safety and the promotion of social and human resources development.

Dietsmann was founded in the Netherlands in 1977 by Peter Kütemann to provide technical assistance to oil and gas companies operating in the North Sea. As oil companies realized the benefits of outsourcing maintenance activities, Dietsmann grew rapidly and in 1982 opened its first international office in Aberdeen, Scotland. Right from the start Dietsmann believed that maintenance was a key tool to optimize production without compromising safety during operation and strove to not only fully master the technology of maintenance but also to integrate it seamlessly into the client’s production objectives. This is why, in 1986, the Dietsmann Company was the first to call this philosophy “Operation & Maintenance”.

Dietsmann’s consistent focus on its core business of energy maintenance and its culture of responsiveness to clients’ needs, innovative thinking and flexibility has earned the trust of its clients, the evidence of which is its long term partnerships with many IOCs and NOCs. As a result Dietsmann is now the leading independent provider of oil, gas, LNG, GTL and power plant maintenance and production operation services. It has a local presence in 15 countries in West, Central, East and North Africa, the Caspian Sea Region, Russia and Latin America and employs over 5,700 people who between them represent 66 nationalities.
